Matt Hohler is the co-founder of Farmers First Coffee, a local company dedicated to sharing the stories and creating impact for coffee farmers they partner with abroad. Matt graduated with his Masters of Public Health in 2016 and is passionate about improving the health of his community. Outside of work, Matt enjoys playing sports and enjoying the outdoors.

Title: Redefining The Way We Think About Health
Description: I am going to focus on the importance of social relationships and the impact it has on personal health. I want to spread the idea that giving your most to others will ultimately lead to the most healthy version you can be. Health goes beyond just diet and exercise.
What do you want people to learn from your talk? The importance of a social network to help reduce stress and improve one’s quality of life.
What action items do you want people to take away from your talk? GIVE your most to those around you. Your family, friends, and community.

What are your hobbies? Health & Wellness, Sports, Hiking, Travel.
What are you passionate about? Coffee and Health
What is the best compliment you’ve received? “You have lived more life in your 29 years than most people do in a lifetime.”
What do you want to be remembered for? Never being afraid to fight for what I believed in.
How do you push the boundaries? By not accepting the normal status quo society expects of us. I believe we can accomplish anything we can dream of as long as your willing to work for it.
What does your happy place look like? A lake, summer weather, and a jet ski.
What is one thing that you’d like to share that is not commonly known about you? I am a very talented ping-pong player.

What part of town do you live in? Near Plaza Midwood, off of 74 and Abermarle
What draws you to Charlotte? The abundant opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally, as well as the weather.
Where do you see Charlotte in 5 years? Continuing to progress towards a more inclusive city for all people.
