About Khalia Braswell…

Khalia Braswell holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University and then obtained a Masters in Information Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016. She is a former Apple UX engineer and is currently the Founder and Executive Director of INTech Camp for Girls, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to inform and inspire girls to innovate in the technology industry.

Description: If you give a girl a piece of technology, it’ll be just another object that she has. If you give a girl a piece of technology, the inspiration of other women in tech and the skillset to innovate, she can change the world.
What do you want people to learn from your talk? Access to technology can change the life trajectory of a student who lives in poverty
What action items do you want people to take away from your talk? Donate and volunteer their time to a tech outreach organization

What are your hobbies? Reading, DJing, Kickboxing, Traveling
What are you passionate about? Connecting people with resources that, I or someone I know, have access to
What is the best compliment you’ve received? People have called me Oprah or “Mini” Oprah. While I have no idea why, I’ll take it!
What do you want to be remembered for? Connecting people together
How do you push the boundaries? I push for change instead of becoming complacent with how things ‘used’ to be
What does your happy place look like? My apartment
What is one thing that you’d like to share that is not commonly known about you? I was a DJ while in college and I used to have a radio show called Soulful Renaissance when I was at NC State. My DJ name is DJ CEO (Creatively Entertaining Others)
